    BENEFITS AT YOUR SIDE

    • A revised right-hand console layout, upgraded CommandGrip™ multifunction handle, and a larger IntelliView™ IV PLUS display elevate your chopping productivity. The CommandGrip controller is your direct link to controlling the chopper, letting you manage all key machine operating parameters including header controls, spout engagement, and Power Cruise™ activation. This handle retains the familiar layout and feel, but has enhancements, like reduced button pressure and improved travel for more precise control of speed. Functions that are used less frequently are laid out logically on the right-hand console for easy access when needed.

INTELLIGENCE FROM THE INTELLIVIEW™ IV PLUS DISPLAY

    • IntelliView IV PLUS display has a larger screen (12 in. vs 10.4 in. IntelliView IV), more processing power which results in faster bootup time and improved reactivity, and better visibility thanks to improved graphics and font sizes. This single display is standard, while a second optional display is available and required if managing mapping, guidance, and IntelliFill™ automated trailer filling.

    BENEFITS AT YOUR FEET

    • A new floor mat features a flat surface that fully extends towards the front windshield. Compared to previous cabs, 12.5% more floor space is featured along with an adjustable footrest to accommodate different operators.

    CLIMATE CONTROL

    • On the right side of the headliner, automatic climate control features control of fan speed and temperature to maintain your desired temperature all day long.

    EXCEPTIONAL LIGHTS FOR DARK NIGHTS

    • To ensure all crop is chopped, operator fatigue is reduced, and the supporting truck or forage box crew is safe, every aspect of lighting on the FR Forage Cruiser Series was carefully assessed. The result? The latest in LED technology, ensuring all areas are illuminated in sharp, bright, and clear definition. Work lights are positioned in key areas including the spout so that the operator can see its full length and directly into the trailer being filled, plus additional far distance work lights.

    FEEDROLLS AND CUTTERHEAD

    BEST IN CLASS CHOP QUALITY
It’s a bold statement, but FR Forage Cruisers more than live up to the title of “best-in-class chop quality.” With the widest crop channel on the market from feedrolls to spout flipper, the crop mat at a given throughput is thinner and better controlled. This allows for precision chopping and throughput processing that leads to ideal feed quality regardless of crop type.

    WIDEST FEEDROLLS

    • The feedroll opening is 33.9 inches (861 mm) wide and up to 7 inches (178 mm) tall, giving space to efficiently swallow even the largest windrows. Standard anti-wrap filler sections on the top front feedroll help prevent wrapping in hay crops when backing out of the crop after a metal detection. Replaceable wear bars on both the upper and lower front feedrolls improve feeding and durability in tough harvesting conditions.

    CONSISTENT LENGTH OF CUT (LOC)

    • FR Forage Cruisers feature the proven HydroLoc™ feedroll drive that guarantees constant chop length independent of throughput and crop type. HydroLoc provides on-the-go adjustment of LOC. The feedrolls are driven by a powerful hydrostatic system that automatically matches their speed to the cutterhead’s speed and knife configuration, providing a consistent chop length, even under varying loads and speeds. Selected LOC is shown on the display and can easily be adjusted with a switch on the side console. FR Forage Cruisers with yield and moisture systems can also be fitted with the ActiveLOC™ system, which automatically varies LOC based on changing moisture content of the crop to ensure even packing and proper ensiling. When harvesting fields with varying moisture, the LOC will decrease slightly in drier sections and increase in wetter sections.

    METALOC™ METAL DETECTION

    • The state-of-the-art MetaLoc™ metal detection system features six detection zones that bring the feedrolls to a dead stop within 300 milliseconds should metal be detected, protecting your FR Forage Cruiser and cattle. The metal’s location is pinpointed on the IntelliView™ IV PLUS display and crop is automatically ejected by the power reverser.

AUTOMATIC STONE DETECTION WITH ROCKALERT™ SYSTEM

    • The RockAlert™ system senses sudden feedroll movement and stops the crop flow to protect the cutterhead. Any sudden, rapid vertical movement of a feedroll triggers the system and stops the feedrolls within 300 milliseconds. Afterwards, crop is automatically ejected by the power reverser. You can adjust sensitivity to fine-tune based on your field’s conditions.

A CUTTERHEAD TO MATCH YOUR NEEDS

    • At 35-inches (889 mm) wide and 28-in. (711 mm) in diameter, the double-chevron cutterheads used in FR Forage Cruisers are the largest in the industry. With a weight of up to 1543 lbs. (700 kg), the high rotating mass helps prevent shock loads to the driveline and power through crop slugs without a sweat. The cutterhead’s massive inertia coupled with stable engine speed results in uniform crop length no matter the conditions. The chevron design cuts cleanly and begins the process of converging the crop mat into the crop processor or accelerator. While multiple configurations are available to meet almost any need, the popular 2x10 cutterhead provides a LOC range suitable for most North American harvesting requirements.

    Number of knives:

    • 2 x 8
    • 2 x 10
    • 2 x 12
    • 2 x 16
    • 2 x 20

    Length of cut range:

    • 6 - 33 mm

    ADJUST-O-MATIC™ AUTOMATIC KNIFE SHARPENING

    • Sharp knives ensure clean, precise cutting for maximum capacity from less power and fuel. With patented Adjust-O-Matic™ technology, you can easily sharpen knives and adjust the shearbar from the cab. The result? Significantly extended knife life and reduced shearbar wear. The system is fully enclosed to ensure proper functionality in even the dirtiest harvesting conditions.

    VARIFLOW™ ACCELERATOR AND CROP PROCESSOR

    ULTIMATE PROCESSING AND BLOWING PERFORMANCE

    • Outstanding chop quality is complimented with unparalleled processing performance to provide top-quality feed. Operators who want to quickly change out the processor to minimize downtime when changing between crops will benefit from the industry-leading Variflow™ system, which adjusts the position of the blower depending on the crop.

    THREE CROP PROCESSING OPTIONS

    • Corn silage requires power and precision to produce the performance necessary to handle large volumes of material at a high speed, keeping wagons and trucks on the move and silage piles filling fast. Select between three efficient crop processing options with conventional or spiral-cut rolls to meet your demands.
    • Standard crop processing – For standard crop processing (Standard on FR550, FR650, & FR780, N/A on FR920)
    • DuraCracker™ crop processing – For intensive processing (Optional on FR550, FR650, & FR780, Standard on FR920)
    • DuraShredder™ crop processing – Super intense processing with shredding effect

    CONVENTIONAL, EFFICIENT CROP PROCESSING

    • Both processing rolls are hard chrome coated for abrasion resistance from dirt in the crop mat. Processing improvements come from the staggered tooth count on the rolls (99/126) and a 30% speed differential. The roll gap can be larger for higher throughput and still provide complete kernel processing for maximum feed efficiency.

HEAVY-DUTY PROCESSING WITH THE DURACRACKER™ CROP PROCESSOR
The DuraCracker™ heavy-duty processing system has saw tooth profile rolls and reinforced frames and drives to deliver outstanding processing performance. Designed to match higher outputs found on today’s most powerful machines, like the FR920, this system weighs up to 40% more than previous processors and features:

    • Heavier tie bolts and springs for 50% more clamping force on the rolls
    • 7-rib belt drive to handle higher processing loads at longer lengths of cut (8 on FR920)
    • A cam system for roll gap adjustment includes cylinders on both sides
    • A smaller gap between the roll end and frame reduces passage of small kernels
    • Robust frames with heavier tubing, larger shafts and bearings, and more

SUPER-INTENSIVE PROCESSING WITH THE DURASHREDDER™ CROP PROCESSOR

    • The DuraShredder rolls have a spiral cut design, and the system itself is heavy-duty overall. The system effectively shreds the crop resulting in fluffy fibers. This is in response to customers who demand more intensive processing of corn kernels and stover when harvesting at mid to long lengths of cut above 7/8 inches (22 mm).

    VARIFLOW™ TECHNOLOGY

    • With the Variflow™ system, stagnant crop has been banished as crop flow from the processor to the truck or wagon is streamlined. Variflow alters the position of the blower to match the requirements of the crop you are harvesting. The patented system mounts to the crop processor and the blower on a pivoting frame. In the corn position, the crop processor is rotated into the crop stream for thorough kernel processing. In the hay position, the crop processor swings rearward, and the blower drops down closer to the cutterhead, eliminating dead spots in the crop channel and enhancing blower performance.

ONE PERSON, TWO MINUTES, NO TOOLS

    • In less time than it takes to change headers, you can change the Variflow™ system from its corn to grass setting without the need for any tools—perfect when flexibility is of the essence in busy harvesting periods. Furthermore, an exclusive tensioning system ensures correct belt tension in both positions so you don’t need to waste time with adjustments. During extended periods of hay chopping, you can remove the crop processor from the harvester in under 30 minutes with the assistance of a dedicated hoist.

    CUTTING-EDGE BLOWING PERFORMANCE

    • An advanced blower design that reduces turbulence means FR Forage Cruisers efficiently transfer high volumes of crop and improve unloading efficiency. A 40% increase in the mass of smooth flowing air produces higher volumes of crop transfer, while smooth crop flow is supported by an impressive crop flow stability value of 80%.

    EXCEPTIONAL SPOUT ROTATION

    • 210° spout rotation lets you fill trucks and trailers on both right and left sides and come back to home position for safe transport. The high strength, reinforced 13-inch (330-mm) wide spout design results in precise filling. With the extra-long spout, you can fill even the highest trucks and trailers thanks to a maximum 21-foot (6.4-m) elevation. Heavy-duty wear resistant plates can be fitted in the crop-flow passage and on the full length of the spout to enhance durability when chopping abrasive crops.

    CROPSPEED MONITORING SYSTEM

    • To help you harness the full potential of an FR Forage Cruiser, the new CropSpeed Monitoring System has been developed in-house at New Holland’s Forage Harvester Centre of Excellence in Zedelgem, Belgium. The first of its kind in the industry, this system is based around a spout-mounted radar sensor that monitors the crop flow leaving the machine, detecting any change in its rate in relation to an FR Forage Cruiser’s forward speed.
    • As a result, the system has the potential to reduce blockage likelihood and make especially dense plugs less far less likely to occur. That means if a plug does occur, cleanout and work resumption will be faster. Another benefit is less experienced operators can chop with more confidence, ensuring they achieve maximum output from an FR Forage Cruiser.

    ENGINES

POWER DESIGNED FOR CONSTANT HIGH LOADS

    • FR Forage Cruisers benefit from powerful yet fuel efficient FPT Industrial engines. The Cursor 13, Cursor 16, and V20 engine all feature ECOBlue™ HI-eSCR 2 engine technology for Stage V compliance and specific tuning to match the requirements of forage harvesting. That means when you encounter a dense area of corn or haylage, the engine reacts in the blink of an eye for zero slow-down without stopping or plugging.

    POWERFUL PERFORMANCE

    • FR Forage Cruisers are powered with the latest FPT engines tuned to provide powerful output with impressive efficiency. The FR550 features the Cursor 13, which provides 544 maximum engine horsepower. The FR650 and FR780 use the larger Cursor 16 engine, which was awarded Diesel of the Year by Diesel Magazine. These engines provide 653 and 775 max engine horsepower, respectively. The FR920 is powered by the 8-cylinder V-layout V20 engine, which delivers an impressive 911 maximum horsepower and more than 3,000 ft-lbs. of maximum torque.

    INTELLIGENT OIL COOLING

    • The latest FR Forage Cruiser VariBlade™ software monitors and adjusts cooling effect based on the hydrostatic oil temperature. Available on all models, variable blade pitch technology means the amount of air drawn through the radiators is automatically adjusted according to cooling requirement, minimizing fan power requirement, cutting fuel consumption by as much as 3%, and reducing power consumption. As a result, you benefit from reduced running costs and total cost of ownership, as well as component wear and noise, while reversible geometry also means the cooling package can be blown clean from the cab.

CLEAN POWER WITH ECOBLUE™ HI-eSCR TECHNOLOGY

    • Proven ECOBlue™ technology uses AdBlue to transform harmful nitrogen oxides contained in the exhaust gas into harmless water and nitrogen. This after-treatment system is separate from the engine which means the engine only breathes clean, fresh air. The benefit? Clean-running, powerful units that offer improved performance and enhanced fuel economy.

    A DRIVELINE DESIGNED FOR EFFICIENCY

    • Designed around an in-line drive concept and direct power transfer, the FR Forage Cruiser driveline puts fuel to work. The engine is optimally positioned to power all key components and provide the ideal weight balance, while the ultra-efficient CVT transmission powers a single drivebelt to operate the chopping cylinder, crop processor, and blower, eliminating any of the potential power losses associated with a transfer gearbox. The FR650, FR780, and FR920 are fitted with heavy-duty 9HB V-belt drives to transfer performance. The FR920’s gearbox has a larger-diameter input shaft and improved bevel gear set to reliably transmit the higher horsepower of this model.

    DOUBLE DRIVE

    • This feature adds a second hydrostatic drive system that drives the header independently from the feedrolls. This arrangement allows the operator to change the header speed separately from the feedroll speed to fine-tune feeding in tough crop conditions. Double Drive is standard on the FR650, FR780, FR920 and optional on the FR550.

    AUTOMATIC WORKING MODES

    • FR Forage Cruisers have two driving modes: Power Cruise™ II mode and ECO Engine Management mode. These modes can be selected independently or used in conjunction with each other based on crop conditions and operator preference.
    • In Power Cruise™ II mode, FR Forage Cruisers automatically adapt engine and ground speed to load, cutting fuel use by up to 15%. When load is reduced, like on headland turns, engine speed is reduced to improve fuel efficiency. When throughput increases, engine speed increases to match, maintaining the highest possible output.
    • With ECO Engine Management mode, a high range lets engine speed be set between 2,100 and 1,950 rpm, ideal for chopping hay, while a low range, which spans from 1,850 to 1,700 rpm, is perfect in corn. Once the desired engine speed is set, ECO mode ensures full engine load for optimal operating efficiency and performance at a constant forward speed.

(4.0 m)-wide UltraFeed pickup is designed to handle larger windrows and facilitate optimal crop flow through the crop channel to maximize the capacity of an FR780 or FR920.

    ACTIVE CROP GUIDANCE

    • Direct and uninterrupted crop flow is the ideal path to maximize the capacity of an FR780 or FR920 Forage Cruiser. With the UltraFeed™ pickup, crop is actively and tightly controlled starting at the front with the large, steel roller windguard. From there, crop is gently collected with the pickup reel while a guide plate helps direct crop into the auger. The hydraulically-lifting auger has paddles to feed crop directly into the FR Forage Cruiser’s rolls. Both the pickup and auger are automatically adjusted to the chopper’s pace to ensure a perfect match of incoming crop volume to ground speed. By applying constant, optimal pressure on the crop, no valuable crop is left behind, regardless of swath size.

    INNOVATIVE PICKUP REEL

    • To ensure maximum uptime, the pickup reel features new and innovative tine installation. The cam-tracked five-tine-bar reel has 140 6 mm double-fingered tines optimally spaced for ideal crop collection performance, even when running at an increased speed in high volume windrows. Bearings are maintenance free for more time spent chopping. Easy maintenance doesn’t mean fragile parts either. All hardware is upgraded for maximum durability leading to uninterrupted days in the field.

    DURABLE POLYMER PICKUP GUARDS

    • For extended durability, polymer tine guards are used on the UltraFeed™ head. These guards are designed for quick release by undoing just one bolt above the reel, reducing the time to change a tine to under two minutes.

    HEAVY-DUTY AUGER

    • The new auger design brings feeding efficiency to new dimensions, ensuring the highest throughputs and most efficient crop flow. The large diameter auger tube is installed with the signature New Holland dual flight auger design, tried and tested to provide the best possible flow of material in all crop types. The auger is an integral part of the active crop guidance concept. Being able to move independently from side to side, the auger can smooth out even the lumpiest of swath. The combination of the auger design and the central paddle feeding directly into the feedrolls of the FR Forage Cruiser results in a significantly higher and more efficient flow of crop as well as a more comfortable operator experience.

    ULTRA STRONG DRIVELINE

    • The driveline’s unique design is built to sustain the highest possible loads the chopper will encounter. Overload protection is controlled by the FR Forage Cruiser, and thanks to the lump-evening effect of the independently moving auger, non-stop productivity is secured for effective days in the field. The driveline is maintenance free, keeping daily maintenance at an absolute minimum.

    ULTRA SAFE

    • An integrated safety button ensures the header can be accessed easily and safely and must be disengaged before harvesting can resume. An LED light package provides clear visibility into the header during operation at night. When needed to be in the auger, illumination also helps to see clearly anything needed to be cleaned out.

    EFFECTIVE GROUND TRACKING

    • Even the smallest parts count towards overall performance. Adjusting the tracking wheels is done by simply turning a lever to adjust the height for perfect ground tracking. Folding the wheels can be done from the cab, letting you move rapidly from field to field, all from the comfort of the cab.

    REFINED GATHERING DRUMS

    • The design of the gathering drums on Pro Series corn headers provides enhanced performance during harvesting. Header weight is reduced, cleaners are standardized, and crop gathering is improved into the gathering drum with a recessed profile. Crop is also held in place better as it follows the rotation of the gathering drum deeper into the header. Performance is also improved in down crop with a lower drum height and refined shape of the points between the drums. For better cleaning access or to repair a subcomponent, drum covers are removable and split into subcomponents.

    A CUT ABOVE THE REST

    • To enhance crop flow performance, the knife rotor lets crop go deeper into the gather drum. Knife rotor speed is also slower to reduce wear and provide easier startup.

    ROW GUIDANCE

    • Corn headers can be specified with row guidance to keep your FR Forage Cruiser on course. Two sensors continuously monitor the position of the crop entering the header and automatically guide the chopper to ensure true perpendicular entry in even poor visibility or at high speeds. The system operates with the IntelliView™ IV PLUS display and the integrated IntelliSteer® auto guidance system. It can distinguish between cut and uncut rows to facilitate nighttime harvesting and advanced activites like skip row functionality to ensure your header is always 100% full all the time.
